Born in Adana in 1990, Erkan Babat graduated in Forest Engineering from Kastamonu University in 2012 and completed a master’s degree in Forest Engineering there in 2016. With a Ministry of National Education scholarship, he completed a master’s degree in Sustainable Forest Management at Oregon State University in the United States in 2023.
He began working at the General Directorate of Forestry in 2023 and is pursuing a PhD in Forest Engineering at Kastamonu University, focusing on biodiversity, flora and vegetation.
Karataş began working in the Information Systems Department of the General Directorate of Forestry in March 2020 and began doctoral studies at Karabük University in 2022.
He is a member of the TEMA Foundation and the Chamber of Forest Engineers. He is married and has one child.
