Born in Kırıkkale in 1990, Mehmet Doğan completed his undergraduate studies in Field Crops at Ankara University’s Faculty of Agriculture in 2012. Between 2012 and 2015, he participated in TÜBİTAK and EU projects on wheat breeding. With a Ministry of National Education scholarship, he completed a master’s degree in Wheat Breeding and Genetics at Texas A&M University in 2020. He continues his doctoral research in Field Crops at Ankara University.

He began his professional career at the Forest Tree and Seed Breeding Research Institute in 2020 and has worked as a wheat breeder at the Central Research Institute for Field Crops since 2022. His research focuses on developing high-yielding, high-quality wheat genotypes, particularly in response to climate change.

He has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at congresses. He is a member of the Plant Breeders Sub-Union and the Turkish Association of Agricultural Engineers. Through projects with international organisations such as CIMMYT and FAO, he contributes to sustainable agricultural policies and the conservation of genetic resources in Türkiye. He has a good command of English.
