Zeynep Çiçekli was born in Isparta in 1992. She graduated in Forest Engineering from Isparta University of Applied Sciences and completed a master’s degree in Forest Ecosystems and Society at Oregon State University. Her master’s thesis modelled the effects of climate change on a rust disease affecting pines. Her research focuses on forest health, ecosystem management and sustainable forestry.
She has worked across different parts of the forestry sector: silvicultural maintenance and afforestation at the Isparta Regional Directorate of Forestry; game and wildlife management at the Third Regional Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks; and transmission line, rehabilitation and afforestation work for private-sector energy and mining projects. She currently works as a forest engineer at the Forest, Soil and Ecology Research Institute, leading projects on mycorrhizal relationships in coniferous and broadleaved species, control of chestnut diseases and performance assessment of species native to Anatolia. She has published articles in national and international journals and speaks advanced English and intermediate Spanish.
